With CR and NBR, replacement of latex of the RFL dip by 50 to 100% of the latex of the corresponding polymer gives satisfactory results. Latices of IIR and EPDM do not exist, although their emulsions are available, which can be used to substitute the latex of RFL dip. However, the performance with emulsions is not satisfactory. For PVC, the latex has to be carefully selected, as not all PVC latices form coherent film, and it may be desirable to incorporate an emulsion of the plasticizer in the dip for proper film formation.
